VHS to DVD/Hard Drive transfer
VHS tapes are consistently losing quality, even if you don't play them. In fact, they usually don't last more than about 10 - 15 years. On the other hand, digital media never looses quality. It will be the same from the time that it's created to the time you're showing your old video of your embarrassed son when he was a baby playing in a bathtub to his laughing children!
There are many other reasons for transferring VHS to DVD/Hard Drive. Ease of access, saving a LOT of space, and avoiding quality degrade or complete loss of memories are just a few of these reasons.

Just imagine, changing this collection:

Odyssey of the Mind!

For information on Odyssey of the mind, you can visit the official websites:
World Odyssey of the Mind Website: http://www.odysseyofthemind.com/
Utah Odyssey of the Mind Website: http://utahodyssey.wordpress.com/
During the performances, there were several people running around with Cameras. They would bring me the pictures occasionally, and by the end, I chose these pictures for the 15 minute music video slideshow. It was a great event! The kids seemed to have a great time! They are all so very creative! Congratulations everyone!

DVD Importing

The Problem: Hundreds of DVDs (this is a picture of about 200 DVDs). Why is this a problem?
  • Storage - Takes up valuable space in the entertainment center.
  • Organizing - "Do I REALLY have to organize these alphabetically so I can find them later?" "Did the kids REALLY not put the DVDs back when they were done?" "I KNOW I saw this DVD just yesterday, where did it go?"
  • Playing - You have to find the DVD, and go through a process before you can even play it.
Wouldn't it just be easier to have all of these problems gone. It is quite simple to solve this problem. Using a variety of software I can help you make the transition from physical DVDs to data stored on a computer or external hard drive for your entertainment system. I can connect your computer to your entertainment center as well so you can not only play all of your favorite movies on the TV with the click of a button, but your favorite music, You Tube Videos, and much more! And say goodbye to those old problems. You'll suddenly have a lot more room in your entertainment center! Let me put this in perspective for you...

Price Rates

(Updated 26 April 2010)

I charge by the project, not the hour. I do this because, as a student, I will be in and out of projects quite a bit and charging by the hour would not be feasible. So pricing for what I do can be a little tricky. These rates are subject to change and situational circumstances. I assure you that the prices listed here are quite lower than my competition (which, on average charges about $65 an hour).

VHS to DVD/Hard Drive Transfer:
These rates are based on time of video rather than number of tapes.
Base Fee: $20 which will cover you for the first hour of video transfer.
To DVD:
2 - 15 hours - $20 per hour
> 15 hours - $17.50 per hour

To Hard Drive:
2 - 15 hours $17.50 per hour
> 15 hours - $15 per hour

CD Importing:
Base Fee: $20 which will cover you for the first 20 CDs.
20 - 100 CDs - $.75 per CD
> 100 CDs - $.50 per CD

DVD Movie Importing:
Base Fee: $20 which will cover you for the first 4 DVDs.
4 - 30 DVDs - $5 per DVD
> 30 DVDs - $4 per DVD

Photo Music Video Slideshows:
Base Fee: $20 which will cover you for the first 4 minutes.
$5 for each additional minute after 4 minutes.

Video and Audio Editing:
This one is extremely tricky to price, please contact me and we can talk about the specific details of the project.

I can provide a wide range of multimedia services and will therefore post more services and price rates as time goes forward. Feel free to contact me at any time. Just because it's not listed here, doesn't mean that I couldn't do it, and if I can't, I know someone who can.

KD Production Classics - Attack of the Clone

Here's a flashback in KD Productions:
In the Spring of 2006, Twin Falls High School hosted a video competition called "Oscar Night." After some time thinking about an idea for a video to produce, and people telling me they weren't available to make a video with me, I decided that I would have to make it on my own, which inspired the clone idea. Here is the final product. One of the best learning experiences I have had from KD Productions.

Twin Falls College 1st Ward Video

For Family Home Evening March 29th, the Twin Falls College 1st Ward decided to make a video to participate in the Institute Grammy Night coming up on April 16th. I offered to edit the video. Here is the result. The ideas and acting were mostly off the cuff.

Some tasks/challenges I had to do/overcome for this video were:
1. Get the background song.
2. Record/capture the video.
3. Organize the video into shorter clips to be more easily accessible.
4. Make titles for beginning.
5. Sync music to video.
6. Get images from the internet (Facebook and Google Image Search) and edit them into the video (as seen).
7. Put some clips in reverse for a fun effect.
8. Work with multiple shots.
9. Encode the video into several formats for uploading to the internet, burning to a DVD, and copying to my iPod.

If you feel like you could use any of these services, please let me know:
